Intel Arc A750 GPU Brings Value And Performance To Challenge Status Quo

It takes a bold, ambitious spirit to challenge a well-established landscape. Where GPUs are concerned, NVIDIA and AMD have long cemented their place as mainstays, making it difficult for a third party to shake things up.

Intel, instead, took up the gauntlet with its Arc series graphics cards, which have come a long way since their foray into the market. While early reviews were critical of their inconsistent performance and relatively high power consumption, they are now in a good place after a series of driver upgrades and improvements.

The Intel Arc A750, in particular, is a standout with the value that it brings. Designed to rival NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 GPU, it comes in at a competitive price and continues to impress even in 2023, as demonstrated from a handful of benchmarking tests. Fitted nicely into a custom PC built by Aftershock, the Intel offering was put through its paces with the following parts:

  • Motherboard: ROG Maximus Z690 Hero
  • CPU: 12th Gen Intel i5-12400F
  • RAM: Adata Spectrix 32GB DDR4
  • Storage: 1TB
  • Power supply: EVGA Supernova 850GA

This combination packed quite the punch in Apex Legends (optimised by the Intel Arc Control Centre), Dead Island 2, Returnal, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and FFXIV: Endwalker, despite belonging in the mid-spec range. The Intel Arc A750 was able to handle all of these games proficiently on 1440p, which means it’ll be able to breeze through 1080p gameplay at the highest settings more easily than some its costlier counterparts.
