Marvel Studios took to the stage once more at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026, where it unveiled an exciting line-up of upcoming projects, including a new Ghost Rider film and the next Black Panther sequel.
“Today, we’re mainly going to talk about movies,” said Marvel Studios Producer and President Kevin Feige, who took to the stage to kick off the presentation. “We’re mainly going to talk about movies because that is what brings us together in the world.”
Here’s everything announced at Hall H at SDCC 2026:
Avengers: Endgame Encore
Kicking things off, Feige showed a special trailer for the re-release of Avengers: Endgame in September 2025, with the film featuring new footage that sets the stage for what’s to come in its next instalment, Avengers: Doomsday.“In 2019 one movie brought the world together,” the screen said. “Reassemble the team. Return to theatres. Relive the experience. The story continues.”
Ghost Rider
In a surprise announcement, it was revealed that a new Ghost Rider movie was in the works for 2028, with Ryan Gosling, fresh off his role in Project Hail Mary, starring as the titular motorcycle-riding hero. “As you know, this is a character I’ve wanted to play for a very long time,” said Gosling as he took to the stage, and was then joined by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine), who will be directing the film.
The pair are currently working together on the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter film, with Levy adding that they spent a lot of their downtime on set exchanging their visions and ideas for the character. While their dreams are now a reality, it’s unclear if Gosling will portray Johnny Blaze, the original incarnation of the Spirit of Vengeance, or his successor, Danny Ketch.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Jon Bernthal, who’s set to reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, then took to the stage with Feige and unveiled a new clip from the film.
In it, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is seen getting pummeled by the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), only for the Punisher to swoop in with a hail of grenades. The clip showed off an extended fight scene with the pair and Hulk, which also helped to tease the relationship between the web-slinger and the anti-hero.
Avengers: Doomsday
With Doomsday fast approaching, the cast and filmmakers behind what’s possibly the biggest movie of the year took to the stage, including directors Joe and Anthony Russo, as well as its ensemble cast, who appeared in the back of the hall on two specialised stages – one with an X (for X-Men), and the other with an Avengers symbol. These include Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, and Tenoch Huerta Mejía. Hayley Atwell also made an appearance, confirming that she will return as Peggy Carter.
Once the stars made it to the stage, a bluish-grey Deadpool then popped up in the audience in a surprise appearance, revealed to be Ryan Reynolds in costume. He cracked a few jokes and asked if he could be in the movie too, to which the Russos replied that although the movie had already been completely shot, maybe there was still room for some additional photography.
Finally, before the stars left, a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer was shown, which shows off Doctor Doom sitting on a golden throne. “Victor was always the smartest guy in every room,” says Sue Storm in a voiceover. “He used to be different. Then everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but didn’t realise he was broken.” The scene then cuts to a destroyed city, with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) desperately trying to fend off Doom to no avail, before the villain raises a bunch of Sentinels out of the ground around him.
Black Panther Returns
Wakanda is truly forever, as a third Black Panther film is in the works from returning director Ryan Coogler. Joined by Letitia Wright and Winston Duke on stage, Coogler also announced that David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) will be the new Black Panther in the film and will play the son of T’Challa (portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman), with the sequel focusing on the character after he “grows up” and “comes of age.”
“I want to say thank you so much,” Jonsson told the audience as he stepped on stage. “Thank you, Ryan, thank you, Kevin, thank you to this amazing family that I have the honour and the privilege and the blessing to join. I actually don’t want to say too much because I want to let the screen do the talking. But believe me, the honour is entirely mine.”
