Netflix has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Enola Holmes 3, which sees Millie Bobby Brown’s (Stranger Things) titular sleuth take on her biggest mystery yet, the kidnapping of her brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill, Man of Steel).
Following the events of the two previous films, Enola Holmes 3 takes Enola far from London to the island nation of Malta, where she’s set to marry the love of her life, Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge, Disclaimer). Of course, things quickly spiral into chaos, as her brother Sherlock is soon kidnapped by an unknown party, forcing her on a dangerous mission to save him right as she’s about to embark on her big day.
Adapted from “The Enola Holmes Mysteries” novels by Nancy Springer, the upcoming film marks the third chapter in the Netflix film series, which began in 2020. Enola Holmes 3 is directed by Philip Barantini (Adolescence), with a screenplay from Jack Thorne, who wrote both the original film and its 2022 follow-up.
Starring alongside Brown, Cavill, and Partridge are some familiar returning faces, including Himesh Patel (Yesterday) as Dr John Watson, Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown) as Eudoria Holmes, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune) as Mira Troy, aka Moriarty.
Enola Holmes 3 follows the critical and commercial successes of its predecessors, with the 2020 original debuting at number 2 on the platform’s Most-Watched list, while its 2022 sequel enjoyed an equally massive opening weekend, racking up 64.08 million hours viewed in just three days. With this in mind, the third chapter has some big shoes to follow, so hopefully it can provide another entertaining case in the Victorian-era sleuthing adventure.
Enola Holmes 3 will release on Netflix on 1 July 2026, with the trailer’s description reading, “Tis I do?! The critically-acclaimed Enola Holmes franchise has returned, taking Enola far from London, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.”
