Embark On A Journey To The West With Monkey King: Hero Is Back On October 17

It’s time to journey to the West once more as Monkey King: Hero Is Back will be releasing for PlayStation consoles on October 17, 2019. 

The game is based on the 2015 CG movie of the same name. and it follows the young Jiang Liuer on his search for the Monkey King, who has been imprisoned for the past 500 years. The movie was a huge success in China, having gained a large following from movie fans, and has earned around 956 million RMB in the domestic box office (approximately 188.9 million). 

Monkey King: Hero is Back The Game is a collaborative effort between Sony Interactive Entertainment and October Media, the company behind the original Monkey King: Hero is Back film. 

While the game mainly follows the same themes as the movie, players will get to play through brand new stories that did not appear in the movie, further showing the deep bond between Jiang Liuer, the Monkey King, and their friend Zhu Bajie. 

Pre-orders for the game is now open on the PlayStation store and premium digital content will be offered to players who have pre-ordered the Standard Digital Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and the Digital Ultimate Edition.

Players who have pre-ordered the Standard Digital Edition will receive the full game as well as the following bonuses,
