Nothing can stand in the way of Chucky. As the killer doll gears up for his return to Season 3 Part 2 of Syfy’s Chucky, creator Don Mancini has confirmed a new film in the works.

“I’m also actually in the early stages of working on a new Chucky movie. At this point, my goal is just to keep working, whatever keeps me working I’m very happy,” he teased on the Scream Dream Podcast, after sharing that he’d be “totally cool” if the show turned out to be the only representation of the franchise’s future.

“I mean at this point though if it’s only Chucky, I’m totally cool with that. I have other things I want to do. I’m working on a new pilot,” revealed Mancini.

It’s unclear whether this project will be a sequel, reboot, or standalone entry, with plot details and a release date yet to be firmed up. In the meantime, fans can get their horror fix when Chucky Season 3 Part 2 premieres on 10 April, especially with the show’s reputation as one of the best entries in the franchise.

That’s saying a lot, considering its long history. First brought to life on the big screen with Child’s Play in 1998, the slasher has since spawned seven sequels and a reboot film of the same name in 2019. Mancini was heavily involved in the process, having written every movie (minus the reboot) and directed the last three sequels. Apart from Chucky, his other major horror contribution was on Hannibal, where he served as producer and writer.
