Just before 2020 ended, it was announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Train had surpassed Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away to become the highest-grossing movie of all time in Japan.
The position was previously held by Spirited Away for close to two decades, since its release in 2001. To celebrate this momentous milestone, Ufotable, the studio behind Demon Slayer, has decided to release a series of free-to-download Demon Slayer video conference backgrounds.
A total of six backgrounds were released, including the Demon Slayer Corps’ headquarters in both a day and night time version, where Ubuyashiki Kagaya would hold meetings with his fellow Demon Slayer Pillars. Or if you’d like your online meetings to be a tinge bit more menacing, you can opt for the Muzan’s Infinity Castle instead.
Or maybe you would prefer your background to be of the great outdoors. Then you can go for either Fujikasane Mountain’s sea of beautiful purple wisteria flowers, or the round bolder at Sagiri Mountain where past Water Pillar Urokodaki Sakonji would train children under his care to become future demon slayers. The last photo, a typical Japanese classroom chalkboard, is a nod to the Kimetsu Gakuen spin-off animation.
