Celebrate Japanese Culture At aniSONIC Countdown on December 31!

A new year, an old tradition. Come December 31, and countdown parties are due to be held islandwide, with everyone ushering in 2018 among a sea of celebratory cheers, good company, and firework displays.

If you’re a fan of Japanese culture who’s looking to welcome the new year in a different way, we’ve got news for you. The aniSONIC Countdown x J-Festival 2017-2018 is making its official debut on the last night of 2017, with many Japanese food, festivities, and special guests to boot. This means an evening of great partying fun with individuals of the same community.

A look at its lineup reveals a host of well-known personalities, such as DJ Caesar – who’s helming the all-new DJ countdown party –, cosplayer-DJ Kuroneko, and CLEANERO, alongside local performer DJ Dano. Running from 5pm to 1am at D’Marquee @ Downtown East, the event will have an entrance fee of $45, but with a bonus: cosplayers are entitled to a $5 discount off ticket prices, so go ahead and put on your best outfits!

For those who prefer solitude to the buzzing nightlife, there’s also the free-for-all J-Festival held behind D’Marquee, where plenty of Japanese food and game stalls awaits. Grab some delicacies, clinch victories, and bask in the tranquil, peaceful surroundings as time spills over to a new year.

More details about the event can be found on their website or via the Facebook page, while interested parties may purchase tickets through Sistic.
