It seems that filming for Star Wars: Episode IX is drawing to a close as Anthony Daniels, the actor for the C-3PO has taken to Twitter to post a heartfelt message that the golden protocol droid has shot his last scenes for the upcoming last episode to the new Star Wars trilogy.
Today was 3PO's last on Episode IX. He's sad – so am I. But we're so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy. I'll miss everyone but I'm glad to know that we've been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world.

Daniels has appeared in every live-action Star Wars movie thus far, though not always as C-3PO — in Solo Daniels played a human mine-worker called Tak. Both Daniels and C-3PO have been a part of the Skywalker saga since its first episode and Daniels is now the only performer to have appeared in all nine episodes.
It is uncertain if C-3PO will make it through to the end of the movie but with the many side stories happening outside of the main storyline, it is certainly possible that we will be able to see C-3PO once again in another movie.
Fans have replied to Daniel’s tweet with messages thanking the actor for all the wonderful memories he has made for them.
Much love to you and the crew. And if this should be your last outing, a hearty thank you from yours truly. 3PO has been an absolute joy and one of my favorite characters of the entire saga.

The upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX will see Billy Dee Williams reprising his role as the charismatic Lando Calrissian. Mark Hamill will also be returning, presumably as a Force Ghost. The late Carrie Fisher will also be in the movie as Leia Organa, thanks to director J.J. Abrams decision to use never before seen footages of the actress from The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: Episode IX will be released in theatres on December 19, 2019.
