Solas Dragon Age: Dreadwolf

BioWare Teases More Villainous Solas In Latest ‘Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’ Trailer

It has been ages since fans of BioWare have seen anything related to the next Dragon Age game. Other than a few teases here and there, the RPG series remains a mystery when it comes to the latest entry. However, for the celebrations of Dragon Age Day 2022, BioWare has released an in-game cinematic of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, giving us a taste of what is to come when it comes to Solas.

As expected, the cinematic stars none other than Solas, likely to be the big bad in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The mage, who is a playable character in Dragon Age: Inquisition, has much to explain, and clearly much to do in the sequel. Varric, another playable character who made his debut in Dragon Age 2, narrates the trailer, sharing the story of Solas.

“I knew him as Solas, a thoughtful mage obsessed with dreams, but long ago, he had a different name – Fen’Harel, the Dread Wolf,” Varric narrates. “Ancient Elven God of Lies or heroic rebel against tyranny, depending on which story you believe. In his final fight with the Elven Gods, Solas imprisoned them and created a veil that split our world from the raw magic of the fade. But now, he wants to tear down that veil and destroy the world, and we’re the only ones who can stop him.”

While there remains no release date set yet for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, the game has already passed its Alpha stage currently, which should bode well for the days ahead.

If you needed something to pass the time until the RPG title is out, BioWare also shared new character posters from the upcoming Netflix series, Dragon Age: Absolution. The show will debut on 9 December on the streaming platform.
