Ballerina Vampire Horror Film ‘Abigail’ Unleashed By ‘Scream’ Directors And Melissa Barrera

Dancers come in different forms, but how do you fancy one who pirouettes and sink their teeth into unsuspecting victims? Universal Pictures’ monster horror flick Abigail is bringing this premise to the silver screen on 19 April, with its first trailer offering a glimpse at the titular sharp-fanged terror, played by Matilda the Musical star Alisha Weir.

Hailing from Scream team Radio Silence, the project is a reimagined take on the Dracula mythology, following a group of kidnappers who discovers their target, a girl named Abigail, is a vampire. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directing duo behind recent horror films including Ready or Not and Scream VI, will helm the project as Radio Silence.

The film’s official logline reads, “Children can be such monsters. After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”
