Avengers: Infinity War Off-Screen Deaths Confirmed!

In a snap, fans of the Avengers and the juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe cried out as many of their favourite superheroes bit the dust.

However, as Avengers: Infinity War continues to break record after record, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have begun to clear up some of the speculations of the historic culling by Thanos, such as Gamora being trapped in the Soul Stone. In an interview with Huffington Post, the Russo brothers have revealed the fates of some and teased even more!

Survived

Howard the Duck is still alive and kicking, so perhaps a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is in order?

Thor’s human love interest, Jane Foster, has been pretty much missing since the events of Thor: The Dark World, and although the God of Thunder seemed to have broken things off with Foster, the Russo brothers have mentioned that her whereabouts are a “potential spoiler.”

The lovable aliens Korg and Miek were onboard the ship when Thanos attacked, and alongside Valkyrie, are notably missing in Infinity War. Joe Russo has said that it would a spoiler to reveal what happened to the duo. No news yet on Valkyrie though.

The brilliant sister of T’Challa/Black Panther, Shuri was last seen trying to remove the Mind Stone from Vision’s head. While she was not successful, it is likely that we will continue to see her in the sequels, with her fate being a spoiler as well.

Nakia was definitely missed in Infinity War, and according to the directors, “she’s on missions” and “deep undercover.” Could this be the same fate for Hawkeye as well?

Both Aunt May and Ned are still around, with Ned’s whereabouts being a potential spoiler, while Aunt May remains blissfully unaware of Peter Parker’s superhero-ing into space and dust.

Deceased

Actor Loki aka Matt Damon did not survive the snap, much to everyone’s disappointment.

Lady Sif was not seen in Thor: Ragnorok and neither was she in Infinity War. Suffice to say, Joe Russo confirmed that she’s “gone.” There have been some scheduling conflicts due to Jaimie Alexander’s work on television, denying us the chance to see the warrior in action.

Joe Russo has also said that Betty Ross is “gone,” and although it’s been a while, this can put to bed any lingering threads from the original Incredible Hulk.
