If you’re living in Malaysia or visiting anytime soon, here’s some exciting news: Apple is opening its first store in Kuala Lumpur on 22 June, with a surprise announcement that generated plenty of buzz. The Malaysia Apple Store joins Singapore and Thailand as the third location in Southeast Asia, in Kuala Lumpur’s The Exchange TRX mall.
While some authorised resellers in Malaysia sell Apple devices, there has never been an actual store location until now. Official stores are larger than reseller stores and offer a wide range of products and dedicated services, such as hands-on workshops and the Genius Bar, which provides technical support for Apple products.
News of the store opening in Malaysia first surfaced in 2023 after hiring ads were put up, and was scheduled to open in February, but its grand unveiling was delayed due to unknown reasons. The new store boasts a unique pyramid-shaped roof, and is conveniently located on the first floor of The Exchange TRX mall.
