Apple Releases Noise Cancellation AirPods Pro And People Are Queuing For Them

Apple has just released their newest addition to the AirPods range, the AirPods Pro. Though it is currently the priciest AirPods available, retailing at S$379, it comes with several new features such as Active Noise Cancellation and hands-free access to Siri.

The AirPods Pro also addresses another key complaint that many customers had with the AirPods, the fit. The new AirPods Pro comes with three different sizes of flexible silicone ear tips that are able to conform to contours of the user’s ears. Using the Ear Tip Fit Test, the AirPods Pro is able to test the quality of the seal and identify which is the best ear tip for the user, ensuring that they get the best audio quality possible.

The Active Noise Cancellation on the AirPods Pro work by using two microphones as well as advanced software to continuously adapt to each individual’s ear and headphone fit. This helps to remove background noise for the user and provides a highly customised, superior noise-cancelling experience that allows the user to focus on what they are listening to, be it music or a phone call.

The new AirPods Pro also comes with a Transparency Mode which helps to highlight noises around the user so that they can still hear sounds around them even while listening to their music. This is useful in situations such as when one is riding on the train and need to keep a ear out to listen for the station they need to alight at.

Switching between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode on the AirPods Pro is fairly easy and is done using Apple’s new force sensor on the AirPods Pro’s stem. The force sensor also makes it easy for users to play, pause, or skip tracks, as well as answer or hang up phone calls.

As with earlier AirPods, the AirPods Pro will be able to easily connect to an iPhone or iPad with its case and now users will be able to bring Apple’s voice assistant with a simple “Hey Siri.” command when wearing the AirPods Pro.

According to Apple, the AirPods Pro comes with the same battery as the AirPods which means that it has five hours of battery life, and four and a half hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancelling on. But it has over 24 hours of listening time when charged using the AirPods’ wireless charging case.

In Singapore, many Apple fans were seen queueing up for the AirPods Pro early in the morning, before the Apple stores were open, eager to get their hands on the new AirPods Pro.

The AirPods Pro will be retailing for S$379 and is available for purchase on Apple’s website and Apple retail stores.
