Apple Fitness+ Expands To Singapore, Adds Kpop Workouts

As the fitness and wellness sector continues to gain traction, tech brands are eyeing their slice of the market, and Apple is no exception. The tech giant is rolling out its largest Apple Fitness+ expansion since launching five years ago, with 28 new markets set to turn up the workout ante, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, Chile, and more.

Starting 15 December, users can look forward to the service’s 12 different workout types – spanning strength, yoga, HIIT, pilates, dance, cycling, kickboxing, and meditation – that range from five to 45 minutes per session; Custom Plans offering a personalised schedule based on their workout and meditation preferences; Get Started, which equips newcomers with a ready-made plan; the Artist Spotlight series that dedicates entire workout playlists to a single artist, such as Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Beyoncé; as well as Time to Walk and Collections.

Where Time to Walk turns, well, walking into an audio experience featuring stories, photos, and songs from Cynthia Erivo, Daddy Yankee, Camila Cabello, Jane Fonda, Simu Liu, Shawn Mendes, and most recently, Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda, the latter brings a curated series of workouts and meditations from the Fitness+ library to help users reach their goals or find workouts that fit their interests. New to the update is a K-pop music genre that will launch across all workout types, alongside digital dubbing in Spanish and German, allowing non-English speakers to have a more immersive experience.

For those using an Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, Apple Fitness+ will also display personal metrics like heart rate, calories burned, Activity Ring progress, and the Burn Bar onscreen. The service is currently available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, the UAE, the UK, and the US. The service is due to arrive in Japan with Japanese dubbing early next year, following this latest round of expansion.

Apple Fitness+ is priced at S$9.98 per month or S$79 per year, and can be shared with up to five other family members.
