Ant-Man’s David Dastmalchian Joins Cast Of Suicide Squad 2

A new star has just joined the cast of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

Ant-Man and The Dark Knight star David Dastmalchian will be making his way to the DC universe, with sources saying he will assume the role of comic book villain Polka-Dot Man.

The lesser-known villain to Batman made his comic book debut in 1962’s Detective Comics No. 300. Born as Abner Krill, the Polka-Dot Man became known for his spot-themed crimes and a spotted costume that came with some amazing gimmicks such as a being able to turn the spots on his costumes into bats, chainsaws, and even flying saucers.

This role in The Suicide Squad will mark a significant step up for Dastmalchian who prior to this role has only acted in smaller roles. He is probably best known for playing the ex-convict Kurt in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man.

Dastmalchian will join the likes of Idris Elba, whose role is as of yet still unconfirmed, Margot Robbie who plays Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Viola Davis who will be reprising her role as Amanda Waller. Professional wrestler and former WWE champion John Cena might also be joining the cast of The Suicide Squad.

While most of the plot details are still kept a secret, it is rumoured that the other villains Gunn will add to The Suicide Squad roster includes Ratcatcher, Peacemaker, and King Shark.

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is set to release in theatres on August 5, 2021.
