For everyone who grew up watching Star Wars, living the Jedi life was the ultimate fantasy. It will, of course, remain a dream, but young enthusiasts now have another outlet to channel their love for the series: the brand-new children game show, Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.
Hosted by Ahmed Best, the voice of Jar Jar Binks, the show pairs young Padawans through a series of challenges that are designed to test their “strength, knowledge, and bravery.” Participants are required to complete these tasks before their Dark Side counterparts, which will put their combined knowledge of the Star Wars universe to the test.
The series was originally planned for a 3 June 2020 premiere, but saw a one-week delay following protests over George Floyd’s death in the US. Instead of Disney+, the intended platform for broadcast, all episodes of Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge will now be uploaded on YouTube, with the first two already up for viewing.
With the swap over to YouTube, there will no longer be a paid barrier to watch it, which is certainly ideal for a kid-friendly series. More episodes are set to head over to the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel in the coming weeks, so do keep a lookout.
