A new Star Wars game is currently in the works, only this time it’ll be exclusively for smartphones.
The game is a joint effort between Warner Bros., The LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm and let its players mix and match their preferred characters and vehicles to compete in matches. Players will build LEGO towers on the battlefield to defend their territory as they deploy troops to capture and destroy their opponents’ base.
The matches will happen in real-time and are one-on-one multiplayer battles. It is not revealed yet if there will be other game modes that allow players to play offline as well.
The game will be free to download but as with any current mobile game, it will include in-app purchases.
LEGO Star Wars Battles will release sometime in 2020 in the App Store and Google Play Store, which is around the same period as LEGO Star Wars: A Skywalker Saga. Not that we’re complaining.
