Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima has teased that he will make an appearance in an upcoming live-action movie, as the 63-year-old game designer continues his streak of cameos in games and films.

Speaking on the newest episode of the Koji10 podcast, Kojima mostly discussed what’s next for his game studio, such as his upcoming spy thriller, Physint, which recently tapped IT star Bill Skarsgård in its leading role. During the podcast, he also reminisced about his voice acting role in the Japanese dub of 2025’s Zootopia 2, where he revealed that he would once again appear in an upcoming movie, this time in a live-action role.
While Kojima did not reveal specifics, he did describe the project as a “big movie”, leading fans to speculate which film he would show up in, with some guesses being Godzilla Minus Zero, which is set to premiere next month, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda movie, with some fans even joking that he might show up in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, perhaps as the only hero strong enough to stand against Doctor Doom.
Apart from the big live-action project, Kojima also added that he will appear in two “major anime” titles, as well as continue his tradition of video game cameos, and while no specific information on any of these titles was revealed, he previously posted a video of himself being scanned into Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, so that is probably the game cameo he was referring to.

In terms of his own video games, Kojima is currently working on two titles – the aforementioned Physint, which looks to be a spiritual successor to his iconic Metal Gear franchise, alongside the horror title OD, which is co-written by Jordan Peele. In true Kojima fashion, however, gameplay details for both these titles still remain a mystery for now.
