Toei Animation, the studio behind beloved anime titles such as Dragon Ball, Digimon, and One Piece, is turning 70 this year, and it’s bringing the celebratory flair to Singapore. Marking the first of its kind in the city-state, the Toei Animation Store will open at Jewel Changi Airport on 3 October, taking over the Mugiwara Store that shuttered on 31 August.
Alongside official merchandise from Dragon Ball, One Piece, Digimon Adventure, and Girls Band Cry, the new space is set to offer themed displays, interactive experiences, and seasonal activities, including character celebrations, community events, mascot appearances, and limited-edition product releases. There’s no schedule for these initiatives yet, but a gacha-style photo-strip machine will be a fixed staple that lets visitors walk away with a random design featuring multiple character frames. Each pull costs S$3.50.
As part of its launch-day plans, the Toei Animation Store is exploring activations such as fan challenges, mascot interactions, and content recreations inspired by memorable scenes from highlighted titles. More details, including the full line-up, opening promotions, and launch-weekend programmes, will be announced later.

The Jewel outlet is also the first Toei Store in Southeast Asia and one of the few physical retail spaces globally dedicated solely to its IPs. The studio itself is headquartered in Nakano, Tokyo, while its Higashioizumi branch in Nerima City houses a museum in Tokyo.
