Hot off the gameplay reveal of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake unveiled during Nintendo’s dedicated Zelda 40th anniversary showcase, the studio has followed up with its general Direct showcase for September 2026.
Over 45 minutes, new announcements were made regarding the latest games and title updates coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, comprising a mix of brand-new titles such as Metroid Ravenous and Switch 2 ports of existing third-party games like the Resident Evil remake franchise and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered.

Upcoming Titles
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has received another brief trailer, this time showcasing the game running on the Switch 2 console, with the title launching on 8 April 2027.
Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2
The second part of Pokémon Pokopia‘s post-launch expansion is set to release later this year, adding accessories that can be equipped, like sunglasses and bowties, alongside new Pokémon to discover and befriend, like Doduo and Braixen.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Another trailer for the upcoming turn-based tactics game, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, has been released, showing off more of its narrative and main characters. The game will launch on the Switch 2 on 17 September 2026.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
The all-new instalment in the Professor Layton series has finally landed a release date of 10 December 2026, with the trailer promising tons of puzzles and the franchise’s biggest mystery yet.
YO-KAI WATCH 2: Haunted Domain
The next chapter of the YO-KAI WATCH franchise has received a brief cinematic trailer, with the game centred around protagonist Nate as he befriends a wide variety of Yo-kai and embarks on mysterious adventures, with the sequel promising some new Yo-kai to discover along the way.
Onyx: The Dark Grip
Bloober Team is back with another horror title, Onyx: The Dark Grip, a Switch 2 exclusive platformer that allows players to alter the game environment using the console’s touchscreen as they guide the mysterious Entity through a desolate ghost town. The game will be released in 2027.
Stage Fright
Hailing from the creators of Overcooked, this escape room-inspired cooperative adventure sees players taking on three different characters as they solve puzzles while being separated in different dimensions. The game will be released in 2027.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea Expansion
The Disney-themed cosy life simulator game is getting another DLC expansion, this time in the form of The Keepsake Sea, which adds a new storyline, new biomes to explore, underwater areas to traverse, and new friends to encounter, like Milo Thatch, Jack Sparrow, and Megara, with the DLC launching in November 2026 for the Switch and Switch 2.
Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale
Developed by Malaysian independent studio Metronomik, the team behind the 2020 music-based action game No Straight Roads, Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale brings the musical concept into a charming fantasy world inspired by the rich cultures of Southeast Asia. Players will explore, solve puzzles and battle foes in combat, all while synced up to the beat. The game will launch in 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the remake of the first game, will be heading to the Nintendo Switch 2, with the trailer featuring some pretty impressive graphics for a hybrid console. The game will launch on 12 February 2027.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will feature 12 sporting events and a new Island Crown mode, where players can face Island Champions in an offline mode. Outside of events, players will also be able to freely explore the island and find collectibles. The game will launch exclusively on the Switch 2 on 22 October 2026.
Metroid Ravenous
Metroid Ravenous marks the next side-scrolling adventure in the franchise, and will feature a new mechanic where Samus can feed off her enemies to stay alive. The game will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on 28 January 2027.
Mega Man: Dual Override
Proto Man was announced as a playable character in Mega Man: Dual Override, featuring his own unique abilities, like a shield he can use to charge through enemies. The game will bring two distinct playstyles to the franchise’s familiar platforming action in Spring 2027.
Eternal Anima
Set in a world that erased its own history, Eternal Anima is a time-travelling JRPG where players can inherit abilities from their ancestors and make use of Future Sight in turn-based battles to predict enemy move orders. The game will launch on 4 March 2027.
Danganronpa 2×2
Danganronpa 2×2 features a visually enhanced version of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair alongside a new storyline with familiar characters, and is bound for the Switch 2 on 14 January 2027.
Metal Slug Ultimate Collection
It’s a blast from the past, as the Metal Slug Ultimate Collection features 10 retro arcade games from the franchise, including the first seven original titles, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug Advance, and a location test version of the original Metal Slug. The collection will launch in 2027.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX
Fan-favourite RPG card game Yu-Gi-Oh! GX TAG FORCE 3 is reborn as Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX with modern visuals, enhanced duelling, and nostalgic cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime era. The remaster will launch on 16 February 2027.
Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United
Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United brings the 1995 RPG classic back as a full 3D remake, combining the series’ signature free-form storytelling with modern graphics and quality-of-life features. The game will launch on 16 February 2027.
Partner Spotlight Sizzle Reel
As with every major Direct, Nintendo also took the time to spotlight some third-party games heading to the Switch console, with some highlights including 007 First Light, The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother, Stellar Blade: Complete Edition, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition.
Persona 4 Revival + Persona 6
The upcoming remake, Persona 4 Revival, will be heading to the Switch 2 on 20 May 2027, with a new trailer showing off more of its newly animated 2D cutscenes and enhanced 3D graphics.
Like previous showcases, the Persona 4 Revival trailer was followed by that of Persona 6, just to remind fans that the game is still coming.
Kirby and the World Beyond
To celebrate Kirby’s 35th anniversary next year, the franchise will be getting a new 3D adventure, Kirby and the World Beyond, which features Kirby using his signature power-snatching ability while also exploring a large open world. The game will launch in Spring 2027.
