Prime Video has dropped the first look at its Muhammad Ali Series, The Greatest, which is set to enter the ring on 4 November 2026.
The announcement was made during a presentation at the Essence Festival of Culture, which was attended by series creator and showrunner Ben Watkins (Hand of God) alongside members of its cast. The series also received its first teaser trailer and is set to be an “intimate exploration of the incomparable life of the boxing champion, humanitarian and global icon.”
Starring Jaalen Best (American Horror Stories) as Ali, The Greatest will be executive produced by Lonnie Ali, the widow of the late boxing legend, and marks the authorised scripted series about his life. The show will feature eight episodes and explore the defining moments in Ali’s career, both in and out of the ring.
Michael B. Jordan will also join the project as an executive producer through his Outlier Society banner, alongside Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions. Other members of the series’ cast include Michael Ealy, Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph, and Kai Parham, all in currently undisclosed roles.
The Greatest is set to offer unprecedented access to the boxing legend’s life when it releases on Prime Video on 4 November 2026, and follows a string of high-profile biopics such as 2024’s Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, 2025’s A Complete Unknown, and this year’s Michael.
