Alienware Celebrates 30th Anniversary With 39-Inch 5K OLED Gaming Monitor; Dell XPS 13 Joins Lineup At 1kg

30 years is more than a respectable milestone, and Alienware’s idea of a celebration is unveiling three new gaming monitors at Computex 2026, covering different price points. Leading the pack is the AW3926QW, touted as the world’s first 39-inch 5K OLED display with RGB stripe technology, which stacks independent layers of red, green, and blue elements to increase brightness.

In addition to a resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 pixels, the flagship model features a 1,500R curve, 1,300-nit peak brightness, and a 0.03-millisecond response time. It also has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and Dolby Vision certification, with a dual-mode design allowing users to switch between two distinct use cases: 5K at a 165Hz refresh rate for cinematic immersion in open-world titles, or 1080p at 330Hz for high responsiveness in esports and competitive shooter titles.

As expected of a premium gaming-focused offering, the 39-inch panel supports Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA Adaptive Sync, which are designed to eliminate screen tearing. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with 90W power delivery, and a built-in KVM switch allowing users to control multiple devices with one keyboard and mouse.

Joining the AW3926QW is the Alienware AW3426DW, the follow-up to the world’s first QD-OLED gaming monitor released in 2022. This latest ultrawide iteration brings a specs bump across most areas, starting with sharper text, improved brightness and lifespan, and better energy distribution from its Penta Tandem display tech. A new anti-reflective coating now reduces glare by 30 percent and delivers deeper blacks in bright environments.

Users can also expect a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, up from 1,000 nits, a 280Hz refresh rate (versus 240Hz), and an improved HDR experience, alongside a 3,440 x 1,440 resolution, a 0.03-millisecond response time, and compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

For those seeking a more wallet-friendly option, the AW3426DWM boasts a 3,440 x 1,440 VA display with a 1,500R curve, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a one-millisecond response time. It releases sometime in July and will retail for US$399.99, with local pricing to be announced later. Meanwhile, the Alienware AW3926QW and AW3426DW are expected to arrive in late July and September, respectively.

On the non-gaming front, the XPS 13 is where the attention lies. Following an earlier tease at CES 2026, Dell has brought the notebook to the Computex show floor, marking the lineup’s lightest and slimmest model to date. It weighs only 1kg – for comparison, the MacBook Neo comes in at 1.23kg – and measures 12.75mm thin, but comes wrapped in an aluminium chassis.

The InfinityEdge display touts a 2.5K resolution and touchscreen functionality, accompanied by a variable refresh rate that switches between 30Hz and 120Hz depending on the on-screen content. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Intel Core Series 3 or Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, offering up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Other notable features include a 17-hour battery life, a quad-speaker configuration, 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and two USB-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and power delivery. It will be available in two finishes, Sky and Storm, with the Series 3 Intel Core 3-equipped model arriving in June, followed by the Ultra variant in the third quarter of 2026. The starting price is listed as US$599, and local pricing has yet to be determined.
