‘Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ Remake & New ‘Star Fox’ Game Rumoured For The Nintendo Switch 2 In 2026

The existence of several unannounced Nintendo games has been leaked, including a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake alongside a new Star Fox game, both rumoured to launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 this year.

This leak comes via Natethehate, who had previously accurately leaked the release date of the Switch 2, alongside the details of the console, ahead of its release date last year. Furthermore, the current leaks in question have also been backed by VGC’s sources, further adding to its credibility.

Speaking via his podcast on YouTube, Natethehate claimed that the upcoming Star Fox game will be revealed in April to coincide with Fox McCloud’s appearance in the upcoming The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with Glen Powell revealed to voice the character. According to Natethehate, the new game, which marks the first modern mainline title in the franchise since 2016’s Star Fox Zero, is also set to launch later in the year, and will include an online multiplayer component.

Another notable rumoured title mentioned was a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which was reported to arrive “in the second half of 2026, approaching the holidays if not the holidays”, although Natethehate admits that he did not have details on the scope of the remake. 2026 does mark the Zelda franchise’s 40th anniversary, so it makes sense that Nintendo would push out something to mark the occasion.

Additionally, Natethehate also reported on a few other rumoured titles set to launch this year, including previously announced titles like Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven: Groove and Fire Emblem: Fortune Weave. The Switch 2 is also rumoured to receive two more Switch 2 Edition re-releases, Pikmin 4 and Xenoblade 2, alongside an unnamed sports title.

Lastly, it was also reported that 2026 will not see the release of the new major 3D Mario title, although Nintendo does have a project in the works, likely to be a follow-up to 2017’s Super Mario Odyssey, and it is set to arrive sometime in 2027.

As always, it’s best to take these rumours and leaks with a pinch of salt, although if they do prove to be true, 2026 is set to be a great year for fans of some of Nintendo’s most classic gaming franchises.
