Security guard Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson, The Hunger Games) might have survived the animatronic horrors of 2023’s Five Nights at Freddy’s, but the story is far from over, as one year after the film’s events, the nightmares continue in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, this time bringing a brand-new breed of danger.

Helmed by returning director Emma Tammi and screenwriter Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 continues the journey of the now ex-security guard, joined by a cast of familiar faces like Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail (You), Theodus Crane (The Walking Dead) and Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo) as Schmidt’s sister Abby, Vanessa Shelly, Jeremiah and William Afton, respectively.

Held at Golden Village Bugis+ in collaboration with UIP Singapore, over 150 fans were able to catch the thrilling second chapter unfold on screen during Geek Culture’s premiere screening on 2 December 2025, encompassing 103 minutes of creepy killer animatronics, spine-chilling tension, and, of course, tons of jump scares.
Set a year after the events of the original film, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 follows Schmidt as he struggles to live a normal life after the traumatic events surrounding the now ruined Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. When his sister Abby’s connection with the killer animatronics strengthens and leads to her sneaking out to find them, Schmidt must venture back to the cursed pizzeria, uncovering the true origins of the animatronics and the dark secrets held within.

While the original was a largely contained affair set almost entirely within the pizzeria itself, the sequel takes things up a few notches, not only introducing suped up versions of Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and the gang known as Toy Animatronics, a concept introduced in the 2014 sequel video game of the same name, but also letting them loose to wreak havoc on the town. The stakes are truly higher this time around, and so are the scares.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 opens in cinemas on 4 December 2025.
