‘Chainsaw Man: The Chaos’ Short To Play Exclusively At Halloween Horror Nights 2025 In Hollywood

Ahead of the franchise’s big movie premiering later in the year, Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood will feature Chainsaw Man: The Chaos, an animated short shown exclusively at the event and based on the hit Japanese manga and anime series.

Announced via the Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood Instagram account, Chainsaw Man: The Chaos will be shown at the DreamWorks Theatre and centres around an original storyline featuring “Denji, Aki, Power, Kobeni, and others [battling] the Halloween Horror Nights Devil who commands an army of zombies.”

The poster for the short teases leading hero Denji, the titular Chainsaw Man, who makes a pact with a dog-like devil when near death to become a devil-human hybrid with chainsaws protruding from his body and embarks on a quest to destroy the devils, alongside his Fiend companion Power and what looks to be a gigantic zombie with a Halloween pumpkin as a head.

From the poster, Chainsaw Man: The Chaos looks to be the same or similar to a show that originally debuted at Universal Studios Japan in 2024 for their Halloween Horror Nights event. Japan’s version, however, was a 4D experience comprising various special effects, so it remains to be seen if this US version will incorporate these elements or adapt it to the traditional film format. The short no doubt serves to build hype for the franchise, especially considering Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, a direct sequel to the first season of the 2022 MAPPA anime, will be premiering later in the year, first opening on 19 September in Japan before a US theatrical release on 29 October. The movie will also see the cast of the anime reprising their roles, and will be directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and written by Hiroshi Seko.
