John Krasinski is set to return as writer, director, and producer for A Quiet Place Part III, continuing his creative leadership of the hit horror franchise. Announced via Instagram, Krasinski’s return comes as Paramount Global, the studio’s parent company, finalises its sale to Skydance, a deal expected to close in the coming week.
The cast has not yet been confirmed, and it remains unclear whether Emily Blunt (The Fall Guy), Noah Jupe (Honey Boy) or Millicent Simmonds (Wonderstruck), who appeared in A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part II (2020), will reprise their roles in the coming movie.

Story details for the third instalment remain undisclosed, but it’s safe to assume it will once again centre on humans navigating a world haunted by sound-sensitive, nightmarish alien creatures, while staying as silent as possible to survive. The film will be produced by Sunday Night Productions, the company Krasinski runs with Allyson Seeger, which has a first-look deal with Paramount, as well as by Platinum Dunes.
Krasinski directed the first two entries in the series, while Michael Sarnoski helmed the 2024 spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One. Altogether, the franchise has brought in more than US$900 million worldwide. Krasinski also directed the recent family film IF for Paramount, though it fell short of box office expectations.
In addition to his directing work, Krasinski is well known for his role as Jim Halpert on NBC’s The Office. His acting credits also include Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan, It’s Complicated, Promised Land, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, and most recently, Fountain of Youth, in which he starred opposite Natalie Portman (Thor: Love and Thunder) for Apple Original Films.
Paramount Pictures has slated A Quiet Place Part III for theatrical release on 9 July 2027. In the meantime, fans will have to quietly wait as they look forward to the third instalment of the nail-biting, deathly silent film series.
