‘Beyond Good & Evil — 20th Anniversary Edition’ Remaster Lands 25 June For All Platforms

A remaster for Beyond Good & Evil has been an open secret for a while now, but it’s still nice to get an official confirmation. Ubisoft will be releasing the long-expected Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition on 25 June, with pre-orders for a physical release opening 12 July.

Slated to launch on all major platforms, the title includes a new treasure hunt, an anniversary galley, a re-orchestrated soundtrack, support of up to 60 frames per second (FPS), and more “exclusive new content”.

“Embark on this epic adventure in up to 4K, 60FPS with improved graphics, controls and audio,” reads the description on the trailer. “Explore the anniversary gallery, and discover more about Jade’s childhood in the new treasure hunt!”

Beyond Good & Evil was originally released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox, and Gamecube, which technically makes 2024 its 21st year. Set in a third-person perspective, it follows Jade on her quest to uncover the dark secrets of her government. The beloved classic received an HD re-release in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and is set to welcome another entry sometime in the near future.

Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition

Initially revealed at E3 2017, Beyond Good & Evil 2 will serve as a prequel to the original game. Details have remained sparse since, but it was confirmed to still be in pre-production in 2023. Unfortunately for fans, the latter was pulled from Steam ahead of this announcement.
