The time has finally come to bring an end to the Rumbling. MAPPA and Crunchyroll officially debuted the trailer for Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 4 during their joint panel at Anime Expo 2023, offering fans a fleeting look at the anime’s upcoming last arc (for real this time).
“I was racing Eren and Mikasa… racing to the tree on the hill. I felt so good just running. In that moment, this thought just entered my head that maybe I had been born to race Mikasa and Eren on this hill,” narrates Armin in the 30-second teaser. “I’ll see you again, Eren.”
The iconic line serves to tie in with the quote featured on the official anime visual, which in a first for the series, doesn’t show any characters or titans. Instead, it paints an idyllic image with a cabin in the woods, with the danger conveyed subtly through various details. The one-liner is seen on the right side, translating to what Armin says in the trailer: “[I’ll] see you again, Eren”.
Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 4 will premiere this fall, with an exact date yet to be set. The Final Season Part 3 aired as a one-hour special on 3 March this year, and is alternatively titled Attack on Titan Final Season The Final Chapters Special 1 on Crunchyroll. The original work by Hajime Isayama was first adapted into an anime by WIT Studio in 2013. Season 2 arrived in 2017, followed by a third season split into two parts.
In 2020, MAPPA took over the reins to work on Attack on Titan Final Season. It began airing in December and spanned a total of 16 episodes. The second season picked up from where it ended off in January 2022, airing for 12 episodes.
