10 Facts/Easter Eggs You Didn’t Know About ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Deadpool & Wolverine may have slashed its way into theatres with a whirlwind of fourth-wall breaks and mutant mayhem, but beneath the surface lies a treasure trove of Easter eggs and hidden gems, along with many unanswered questions.

From clever cameos to subtle nods to comic book lore, the film is packed with details that will delight even the most eagle-eyed fans. Get ready to dive deeper into the real multiverse of madness!


1. Chris Hemsworth’s cameo in the movie is from archival footage from Thor: The Dark World.

In a clever use of existing material, Deadpool & Wolverine incorporates Chris Hemsworth’s Thor into the film through archival footage from Thor: The Dark World (2013), seamlessly inserting Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool into the scene to replace Loki, providing a hilarious and unexpected interaction between the two characters.

It was unexpected because the Thor star didn’t even know he was in the movie.


2. Four returning X-Men characters are played by singers and stunt actors.

Deadpool & Wolverine features four returning X-Men characters portrayed by singers and stunt performers. While Callisto was originally played by actress Dania Ramirez in X-Men: The Last Stand, she is now embodied by singer Chloe Kibble. Similarly, Toad, previously portrayed by actor and stuntman Ray Park, is now played by stunt performer Dany Ramos. 

Arclight, originally brought to life by model Omahyra Mota Garcia, is now played by stunt trainee AFROISMASSIVE. Lastly, Lady Deathstrike, once portrayed by actress Kelly Hu, is now embodied by stunt performer Jade Lye.


3. Former Florida Championship Wrestling wrestler Aaron Reed plays Juggernaut.

In a crossover that bridges the worlds of professional wrestling and superhero cinema, former Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) wrestler-turned-actor Aaron W. Reed takes on the role of Juggernaut in Deadpool & Wolverine. Reed, who honed his skills under the names Lift Sawyer and Latham during his time in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s developmental territory, brings his imposing physique and undeniable presence to the iconic X-Men villain. 

This is not his first outing with Reynolds as he also appeared as Ryan Reynolds’ muscular body double in Free Guy (2021).


4. Tom Holland’s brother, Harry, is a Deadpool variant.

We all know Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But did you know that brother, Harry Holland, is also part of Deadpool & Wolverine, marking his second collaboration with Marvel Studios? The behind-the-scenes photos reveal him sporting a Deadpool suit, establishing  his presence among the multitude of Deadpool variants battling the titular heroes in the film’s climactic showdown. This marks Holland’s second attempt at an MCU cameo, following his cut scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he played a bicycle thief. 


5. Wrexham striker Paul Mullin appears as Welshpool.

Deadpool & Wolverine isn’t just a superhero extravaganza, it’s also a showcase for Wrexham AFC’s finest! Star striker Paul Mullin makes a surprise appearance as the masked vigilante Welshpool, a hilariously accurate Welsh counterpart to Deadpool. This cameo, along with fellow striker Ollie Palmer’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role as a bartender, highlights the film’s playful connection to the football club, which is co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. 


6. X-Men ship Conquistador docks at the Void.

In a nod to X-Men lore, the iconic Conquistador, a vessel once utilised by the Children of the Vault and later commandeered by the X-Men, makes a surprising appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. This time, however, the ship finds itself marooned in the desolate wasteland known as The Void, serving as a haunting reminder of past battles.


7. Stan Lee appears in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Even in the midst of a multiversal mayhem, Deadpool & Wolverine manages to sneak in a subtle tribute to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee. Amidst the chaotic battle between Deadpool, Wolverine, and the Deadpool Corps, a fleeting advertisement for ‘StanLee Steemer’ graces the side of a bus, a clever play on the real-life carpet cleaning company and a touching nod to the late icon. 

While brief, this blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reference serves as a reminder of Lee’s indelible impact on the Marvel universe and his enduring legacy in the hearts of fans worldwide.


8. Psylocke appears in the Void, working for Cassandra Nova.

Deadpool & Wolverine marks the third live-action appearance of Psylocke, the mutant psychic, in the MCU. While previously portrayed by Mei Melançon and Olivia Munn in Fox’s X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Apocalypse, respectively, this time Psylocke emerges in the desolate Void (played by Ayesha Hussain), and serves as a henchman for the villainous Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin).


9. The Russian makes his appearance as Cassandra Nova’s henchman.

The Russian, known for his relentless pursuit of vengeance against the Punisher in the comics, makes his second live-action appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. This time, he’s enlisted as a henchman for Cassandra Nova, bringing his brute strength and unwavering loyalty to the villain’s cause. 

While the MCU iteration, played by Billy Clements, may differ from Kevin Nash’s portrayal in the Punisher films, the character’s menacing presence and unwavering determination remain intact.


10. Deadpool and Wolverine eat shawarma, just like in the first Avengers movie.

In a heartwarming moment after their multiversal exploits, Deadpool extends an invitation to Wolverine, suggesting they celebrate their victory with some shawarma. Wolverine simply replies, “I could eat.” Deadpool then quips, “Y’know, the Avengers discovered shawarma,” a playful nod to the iconic post-battle meal in 2012’s The Avengers.
