Xiaomi 17 Ultra Gaming Test — Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact & Delta Force

As the smartphone space continues to grow, the aesthetic identity is handy for users to differentiate one model from another. Xiaomi’s Ultra line of devices has always featured a round camera module on its rear, which stands out from the squarish cutout design of its base, Pro, and T series, bringing attention to its expertise: mobile photography.

But recent iterations have proven to be an all-rounder, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is no different. Following an initial launch in China, the handset is now making its way to global markets, including Singapore, with souped-up hardware in tow — the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an Adreno 840 CPU, and 16GB of RAM — that also sets it up as a gaming machine.

Alongside a 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and a resolution of 2,608 x 1,200, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is indeed a force to be reckoned with, easily breezing through GPU-intensive titles such as Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, and Genshin Impact, as well as Delta Force. The smooth handling of particle-heavy scenes in Zenless Zone Zero is particularly impressive, especially without the assistance of boosted tech, and the highly capable thermal management only serves as the cherry on top.
