Revisiting legacy titles through a modern lens is never easy, especially if their beloved status remains unchanged with time. In the case of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest VII, it earned respect for taking the series in a grander, more ambitious direction, including the ability to explore multiple, separate continents rather than a single large world.

Measuring 28.5 x 14.5 x 12.5cm (height x width x depth), the Ship-in-a-Bottle figure is a refreshing reprieve from standard fare, serving as a nice little nod to the mode of travel in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. It requires no assembly and comes fully finished, featuring the Hero, Keifer, and Maribel in front of the sails, as well as foes such as the Sting Slime and Shell Slime on their heels. Alongside the adorable slime plush, the display piece encapsulates the essence of the renewed adventure and the larger Dragon Quest franchise, which sails to its 40th anniversary this year.
