Ubisoft Unveils New Premium Subscription Service With Cheaper Classics Tier

Ubisoft will overhaul its current subscription service and launch a refreshed subscription, Ubisoft+ Premium and Ubisoft+ Classics, coinciding with the early access launch of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Under this new model, Ubisoft+ Premium will let players have early access to upcoming new releases, day one access, DLCs, and more goodies. The service will be offered on Amazon, PC, and Amazon Luna, with a monthly subscription fee of US$17.99. It will also include Ubisoft+ Multi-Access and PC Access, though for a heftier price tag.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft+ Classics will curate a selection of Ubisoft’s  most popular back-catalog games, like Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs: Legion, for US$7.99 a month, with more games to arrive on the service in the months to come. The Activision Blizzard catalog will eventually come to the service too, though details on its arrival are scarce.

“A subscription is a great way to introduce our games to brand-new players within the Ubisoft ecosystem. One in 10 subscribers is someone who has never played a Ubisoft game before,” said director Philippe Tremblay. “As a result, they go on to discover more of our games, so it really speaks to the model as a means to expand their horizons.”

It looks like Ubisoft will have an exciting year ahead, with Skull and Bones finally releasing in 2024.
