Torture Yourself With The ‘Twilight’ Movie Saga On YouTube For Free

Some stories fade with time, others become cult classics. The Twilight Saga movies, comprising Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and the two-part Breaking Dawn, belong in the latter category, and Lionsgate will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a free streaming event on YouTube.

The watch party will run on a loop from 7 September at 12pm PT to 14 September at 11.59pm PT on the official franchise channel, following a limited theatrical re-release from 29 October to 2 November in the U.S., with a film playing each day.

Based on author Stephenie Meyer’s books of the same name, the Twilight Saga chronicles the love story of human Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen, as they navigate a world of vampires, werewolves, and Bella’s friendship with Jacob, who also harbours feelings for her. Kristen Stewart (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Robert Pattinson (The Batman) play the lead couple in the films, joined by Taylor Lautner (Cuckoo) as Jacob.

While the franchise is notorious for consistently negative reception, it went on to gross over US$3.3 billion worldwide across five instalments, propelling Stewart, Pattinson, and Lautner to international fame. Other stars include Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Justin Chon, Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and Sarah Clarke.

An animated TV reboot of the first film is also currently in the works, nearly two decades after its debut. Forever begins again, indeed.
