Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, a remake of the third and fourth games in the classic skateboarding series, is heading to current-generation consoles in July this year, even bringing characters from id Software’s Doom franchise into the mix with its digital deluxe edition.
Five years after a similar treatment of the first two games in the series, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, which launched on previous-gen consoles and PC, this new collection is set to release across all platforms with developer Iron Galaxy taking over the reins from Vicarious Visions.
Apart from providing a massive visual overhaul to the game’s graphics, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will also introduce a mix of old and new content. Returning classic maps like Airport, San Francisco and Foundry have seen a major improvement in environmental detail and density, supplemented by new ones such as an abandoned waterpark. Similarly, new skaters like Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell and Jamie Foy join a returning lineup of Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero and of course, Tony Hawk himself. It is to be noted, however, that Bam Margera, who appeared in the original versions of the games, was not listed in the game’s confirmed roster.

Fans will no doubt agree that the original game’s soundtrack was an integral part of its enjoyment. Thankfully, at least a few of the songs from the game’s original score will make a return, including Ace of Spades by Motorhead, Amoeba by Adolescents, Mass Appeal by Gang Starr, 96 Quite Bitter Beings by CKY, Not the Same by Bodyjar, and Outta Here by KRS-One.
In addition, the digital deluxe version of the game is set to feature an eyebrow-raising crossover with id Software’s Doom, introducing the Doom Slayer and Revenant as playable skaters, both equipped with their special tricks, like Doomguy using his chainsaw to skate and the Revenant recreating the iconic “doot” meme from the games. Other goodies in the edition include Doom-themed skate decks, skater apparel, an Unmaykr Hoverboard and most importantly, bonus in-game music featuring a remix of the classic Doom track E1M1.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 was originally released in 2001 for Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2 and was the first game on the latter platform to include online multiplayer support. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 released in the following year, removing the time limit structure of past games and introducing features like spine transfers and sketching, which will both make a return in the remake.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be released on 11 July 2025 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
