‘The Neverending Story’ Continues With New Film Adaptations

The Neverending Story isn’t done yet, as the film franchise moves forward on a reboot after an intense bidding war among various studios. The new adaptation of the children’s book by author Wolf-Dieter von Gronau will be split into a series of live-action movies at See-Saw Films (Heartstopper) and Michael Ende Productions (The Neverending Story).

See-Saw Films’ Ian Canning and Emile Shermain will be producing, along with Roman Hocke and Ralph Gazzman from Michael Ende Productions. Lorenzo De Maio, Simon Gillis, and Helen Gregory serve as the film’s executive producers.

The crew is excited to begin production on the films, adding that “The Neverending Story is a beloved book that has captured the imagination of generations of fans all over the world. To escape from his dull life and bullies at school, Bastain takes refuge in an old book store. There, he begins reading an old storybook and finds himself drawn into the mythical world of Fantasia.
