Remember the Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC from Borderlands 2 where you played through an actual D&D game? Yup, the game, Bunkers & Badasses, is going to be an actual tabletop RPG that you can roll dice with friends at the table.
Gearbox Software, in collaboration with Nerdvana Games and Leder Games, announced the development of the RPG in the trailer above, which will launch sometime in early 2021.
In this game, players play as Vault Hunters, picking from one out of 10 possible classes, to band up together pursuing quests and slaying, well, Badasses. And as Tiny Tina herself called it in the original DLC, games will be run by game master appropriately dubbed the “Bunker Master”.
Aside from a host of character creation options based on the Borderlands universe, Bunkers & Badasses will also feature playable adventures that hearken back to the original DLC. These include Butt Stallion’s Hunny Heist (which is possibly a nod to the popular one-page RPG Hunny Heist starring Handsome Jack’s iconic pet), The Merchant’s Quest for the Wizard’s Wand, and the original Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.
Two editions of the game have been announced: the standard 200-page hardcover book (US$59.99), and the deluxe edition (S$119.99), which will also include high-quality miniatures, a Bunker Master screen, gun cards, a playable grid, monster standees, and custom polyhedral dice, including a “one of a kind weighted Badass Die”.
Keen Vault Hunters can pre-order Bunkers & Badasses on the Nerdvana Games website. Those who pre-order the deluxe edition before 30 September will get a US$20 discount.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
