Fans of Korean zombie thrillers, the undead franchise rises again! Production on All of Us Are Dead Season 2 has commenced, and with it, revived the deceased Squid Game players 124 and 095 to join its cast.

That’s right — Kim Si-eun (Next Sohee), who played the sweet and innocent Player 095, Young-mi, in Squid Game Season 2, and Roh Jae-won (Doubt, Daily Dose of Sunshine), who played the vicious and insane Player 124, also known as Nam-gyu, in both Squid Game Season 2 and 3, are the newest additions to the star-studded cast of All of Us Are Dead Season 2.
Roh’s acting chops were on full display during his tenure in the latter two seasons, convincingly portraying a drugged-up psychopath with bone-chilling intensity. Meanwhile, though Kim’s role in Squid Game Season 2 was relatively smaller, her innocent and stellar performance in Next Sohee (2022) won her the Best New Actress in Film award at Korea’s 59th Baeksang Arts Awards. With these credentials under their belt, fans can certainly look forward to both actors bringing new flavour to the upcoming zombie survival tale that promises to take a bite out of its cast.

The All of Us Are Dead series was adapted from Joo Dong-geun’s renowned manhwa and achieved widespread popularity and global commercial success in its freshman outing. The series amassed over 560 million hours watched within the first 28 days from its release, securing the 4th spot in the Top 10 Non-English Series rankings across over 90 countries.
While Season 1 followed high school students navigating the terrifying terrain of a zombie-infection outbreak, Season 2 will now focus on the returning protagonist Nam On-jo (Park Ji-Hu, House of Hummingbird), now attending college in Seoul, as she struggles with lingering trauma as one of the few survivors of her high school ordeal, while battling for survival when a fresh wave of the infection hits the city.

The season will also explore the present circumstances of the survivors of the original Hyosan outbreak, comprising Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young, High School Return of a Gangster), Nam-ra (Cho Yi-hyun, Hospital Playlist) and Su-hyeok (Lomon, Revenge of Others), as they navigate life after the outbreak and face the return of the zombie threat. Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2), Yoon Ga-i (Undercover High School), and Kim will portray university students who have devised their own battle-tested survival strategies through seasoned experience. Meanwhile, Roh will portray Han Du-seok, a National Intelligence Service team leader, likely playing a vital and pivotal role in the storyline.
In the meantime, fans will have to bite their nails instead of heads as All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is only estimated to be released in 2026.
