We’ve got a big smile on our face, because Smile 2 is coming our way.
The sequel to 2022’s Smile is heading to cinemas next Halloween on 18 October 2024.
Smile was a huge horror hit last year, scaring up to US$217 million worldwide last year. The movie only had a US$17 million budget.
The horror movie also launched filmmaker Parker Finn as a director. Finn signed a first-look deal with Paramount and the movie was initially intended for streaming. However, it was upgraded to a theatrical release after a successful test screening.
“The audience was screaming at the screen, so it was very clear that the communal environment and nature of it was incredible,” Finn told The Hollywood Reporter. “And to Paramount’s credit, they recognised that, and they got behind the film in such an amazing way.”
