Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2023, a highlight for the local and regional anime, cosplay, and gaming communities, returns with a bang, drawing enthusiastic crowds right from its first day. This year’s event, featuring the much-anticipated Cybertron Fest and Creator’s Con, along with an array of cosplays and diverse booths, has been a vibrant celebration of geekery. The event’s highlight, Artist Alley, spreads over two floors on Level One and Basement 2, and becomes a bustling hub of creativity and artistic expression. These booths, hosted by friendly and talented artists, showcased a range of unique and captivating works, drawing admirers and collectors alike.

1. CWilock

At their booth adorned with a spectrum of muted colours, artist CWilock offers a unique transformation of beloved characters from anime and games into an iconic and unique style. Visitors find themselves mesmerised by the variety, featuring prints from Chainsaw Man, Genshin Impact, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Nijisanji, Persona 5, and more, including charming Pokémon bookmark prints.

CWilock also invites commissions starting at S$90, catering to those seeking personalised renditions of their original characters or favourite figures from various fandoms.


2. Elizabeth Severe & MEYYEN

Singapore-based artist and illustrator Elizabeth Severe melds classical and modern influences in her art. Elizabeth’s work features an array of fan art, encompassing titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and House of the Dragon.

Boothing with Elizabeth Severe is artist MEYYEN, celebrated for her portraits and intricate patterns that delve into themes of femininity, polarity, and strength. Her collection features fan art of female characters like Alicent Hightower and Padmé Amidala, from House of the Dragon and Star Wars respectively.

Adding a unique touch, her prints are accompanied by screen cleaners with Marvel characters such as Iron Man and Spider-Man, and Star Wars characters like Boba Fett and Darth Vader, crafted by her six-year-old nephew, Ansel, a budding artist in his own right.


3. Lightning Strikes Art & Missing24Seven

The Squishable Bat Family and Jujutsu Kaisen cat plushies from Lightning Strikes Art and Missing24Seven have effortlessly captured hearts at their booth. Their eye-catching merchandise, ranging from Genshin Impact omamoris (Japanese lucky charms) to mini and heart-linked couple acrylic charms, Tamagotchi shakers, and even earrings, offers a diverse selection that’s hard to resist.

4. The Cat Inspired

The Cat Inspired booth is a haven for cat enthusiasts, offering a delightful array of cat-themed items. Their charming collection, including the playful Cat Wars enamel pins, captures the essence of feline charm with a twist. Additionally, the festive season becomes more special with their cat-themed postcards, perfect for spreading Christmas cheer. The highlight, however, is their extensive range of cat enamel pins, featuring designs from horoscopes to birth month flowers, making it a breeze for shoppers to find the perfect pin to match their preferences or personality.


5. Tinker Tales X Curious Chimeras

Tinker Tales Studios invites visitors to dive into the diverse world of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), offering experiences ranging from Dungeons & Dragons to Vampire: The Masquerade and Pathfinder. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultures and folklore of Southeast Asia, their campaigns are deeply rooted in the region’s heritage.

Additionally, their booth promotes local campaigns and celebrates a love for tabletop games, featuring unique merchandise such as liquid vial necklaces, earrings, and clan symbol necklaces from Vampire: The Masquerade.

Sharing a booth with Tinker Tales Studios is Curious Apothecary, the roving storefront of Curious Chimeras, a Singaporean tabletop gaming company. They offer a selection of original role-playing game products and various RPG-related accessories like dice potions and mystery treasure boxes, adding an element of intrigue and excitement to their gaming adventures.
