Samsung S23 FE Gaming Test — Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact, COD: Mobile & PUBG

With flagship devices come great performance, but don’t be quick to disregard their lower-end counterparts. The mobile gaming market has seen considerable growth over the years, raising the demand for improved everything across the board, from processing speeds to photography prowess.

To that end, the Samsung S23 FE, the more affordable cousin of the front-running S23 series, has shown that it isn’t here to play around. The device pairs the Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 1 processor with the Adreno 730 GPU, packing 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage — a configuration available only for the U.S crowd. In other countries and territories, including Singapore, it sports an Exynos 2200 chip and an Xclipse 920 GPU instead.

No matter the iteration, the horsepower is translated to a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an FHD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,340) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The 4,500mAh battery brings a finishing touch to the gaming experience, allowing users to enjoy up to 22 hours of entertainment while on the go.

In Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile, the Samsung S23 FE performed a lot better than expected, surpassing expectations in most, if not all, areas. Check out the video above for a detailed breakdown of the gaming test, including temperature checks, individual findings for each title, and concluding thoughts.

The Samsung S23 FE is available now for S$997 (256 GB storage | 8GB RAM). It comes in four colourways: Mint, Graphite, Purple, and Cream, and is due to have a 128GB | 8GB alternative soon.
