Samsung Galaxy S24 Photos And Launch Details Leaked

A month ahead of Samsung’s usual period for flagship phone series announcements, leaks of the Galaxy S24 have surfaced. Multiple significant dates have been dropped, including its announcement date, pre-order dates, and shipping dates.

According to a report from South Korean tech news platform The Elec, the Galaxy S24 series will be officially announced on 17 January 2024 in San Jose, California, USA. This is an unusual shift as Samsung usually holds its Galaxy Unpacked showcase event at New York.

If true, it’s a bold course of action to hold the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 right in California, said to be Apple’s backyard, due to collaborations with Google and competition with Apple. The South Korean conglomerate was reportedly also deciding to hold the event either in San Francisco or Seoul in South Korea.

The same article also revealed the pre-order date for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra to be on 19 January 2024, with the devices expected to reach customers between 26 to 30 January next year. Meanwhile, public sales will reportedly be kick off on 30 January.

Prices have not been disclosed, but are likely to be around the Galaxy S23’s price range. This estimates prices to start from US$900 (S$1,298 for the Singapore market) for the S24, US$1,000 (S$1,528) for the S24+ and US$1,200 (S$1,828) for the S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 was unveiled to be Samsung’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) phone a few months ago, with its AI features crafted in-house. Bixby may also be rebranded to Galaxy AI, with one of its AI features shown to be live language transliteration during phone calls.

To bolster first-quarter revenue, the company is advancing the release of the Galaxy S24 by two weeks compared to the Galaxy S23. This strategic move aligns with the company’s established pattern of peaking sales in both Q1 and Q3 of their financial year, attributed to the launches of Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones.
