‘Reacher’ Season 3 Casts World’s Tallest Bodybuilder As Villain Paulie

Amazon Prime Video has finally cast Olivier Richters, known as ‘The Dutch Giant’, for the role of Paulie in the upcoming Season 3 of Reacher. The series, based on Lee Child’s best-selling Jack Reacher novels, continues to capture audiences with its thrilling adaptations. The third season will delve into the 2003 novel Persuader, one of the most favoured books in the series, where Paulie emerges as a menacing villain.

Reacher Season 3

Richters, a Dutch actor and bodybuilder who towers at 218cm (7 ft 2 in) and weighs 353 pounds (160kg), is set to bring an intimidating presence to the screen, squaring off against Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher. Richters, whose previous roles include parts in Black Widow, The King’s Man, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, is celebrated for his extraordinary stature, making him a fitting adversary to Ritchson’s Reacher, who stands at 192cm (6 ft 3 in).

In Persuader, Paulie serves as the formidable bodyguard to Zachary Beck, portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall. Beck enhances his security after an attempted kidnapping of his son, introducing Paulie as a critical figure in the storyline. Lee Child describes Paulie in the novel as a giant figure, dwarfing even Reacher in size and presence, setting the stage for an epic confrontation that fans of the series eagerly anticipate.

The casting choice has sparked excitement, with comparisons drawn to iconic cinematic giants. Anthony Michael Hall likened Richters to Jaws, the memorable villain from the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, played by Richard Kiel. Hall teased an epic battle between Reacher and Paulie, promising a cinematic spectacle reminiscent of a superhero clash.

Although a release date has not been announced, the assembling of such a noteworthy cast for Reacher Season 3 suggests that more updates will be forthcoming. For now, fans can catch a glimpse of what’s in store through a set photo shared on the show’s official Instagram, hinting at the intense action and drama that the new season will bring to Prime Video.
