Earn Real Money-Items Through PlayStation Stars Loyalty Programme

Sony is launching a free-to-join loyalty programme called PlayStation Stars later this year in phased regional rollouts that will include Asia, America, Europe and more.

Gamers who join the free PlayStation Stars programme once it is launched will be able to earn rewards by completing a variety of campaigns and activities.

These campaigns can be simply ‘Monthly Check-In’ which requires you to play any game to receive a reward, or be more specific where you need to win tournaments, earn specific trophies, or even be the first player to platinum a blockbuster title in your time zone. The last one will certainly incentivise some people to cheat and find ways to abuse the system though.

Gamers who are also on PlayStation Plus will also earn loyalty points when buying from the PlayStation Store. Non-subscribers will miss out on this, so consider this another subtle nudge to get more people onto PlayStation Plus.

The points can be used to redeem PSN wallet funds (which can be traded in for real-money items) and selected PlayStation Store products.

The launch of PlayStation Stars later this year will come with a new type of reward called ‘digital collectibles’. These can be digital representations of game figurines or historical gaming devices. Sony has promised that there will always be a new collectible to earn so completionists and collectors truly have plenty to look forward to.
