Overwatch 2 Valentine's Day

‘Overwatch 2’ Valentine’s Day Event Introduces Dating Sim And Cupid Hanzo Skin

Heroes never die, and the same can be said of love. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, electric chemistry is well in the air, and not even the Overwatch 2 team can resist the allure of the occasion.

Enter the Loverwatch dating simulator, which will run from 13 to 28 February. A non-canon text-based experience, it sets players on two potential dating paths with Genji or Mercy, and presents them with dialogue options to interact with each hero, while Cupid – who looks suspiciously like Hanzo – assists in the background.

The playthrough lasts roughly 30 minutes, and can only be accessed on web client. Available in Korean, Japanese, Spanish, German, French, and English, it also promises a themed Play of the Game (POTG) highlight, awarded to those who unlock the secret ending.

Taking place concurrently with the dating sim is the Ultimate Valentine’s event, due to kick off in-game on 14 February. The 15-day affair will offer a special experience that includes a Hanzo 4v4 Limited Time Mode (aptly titled ‘Love of Geometry’), as well as Support-themed challenges that can net players two earnable epic skins and other rewards.

The Cupid Hanzo bundle, however, would be the main highlight for Hanzo lovers and mains. In addition to the Legendary Cupid skin, the beefy archer will also receive a Highlight Intro, charm, souvenir, and name card to call his own.

Both Valentine’s Day events are arriving as part of the content lineup for Season 3, with the new Antartica Peninsula Control Map ushering in its launch on 7 February. Featuring an Asian mythology theme, the new season brings the Amaterasu Kiriko Mythic skin to the Battle Pass, which now offers more goodies for players, such as 10 additional tiers of rewards on the free track, lowered prices for Legendary skins, four new skins that can be earned through in-game events, free cosmetics, and more.

PachiMarchi will be making a return as well, with a new limited-time Kill Confirmed game mode, an epic skin, six PachiMarchi player icons, a weapon card, a name card, and login rewards in tow. It will run from 21 March to 4 April, after the Valentine’s Day fever comes to an end in Overwatch 2.
