The Straw Hat Pirates are preparing to sail for the Grand Line in Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece series, and a sneak peek featurette has given a glimpse of the journey that lies ahead. In it, the show’s cast shares their thoughts on the upcoming outing, interspersed between behind-the-scenes moments and an early look at new locations.
“The Straw Hats are very, very excited to be back, because the story of One Piece gets bigger, and it gets better,” teases Iñaki Godoy, who plays Monkey D. Luffy in the hit live-action adaptation. “And now, in season 2, they are ready to go into the Grand Line to search for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece.”
Mackenyu, stepping back into the role of Zoro, agrees on the bigger scope of the project, “This season was a lot more intense.” Usopp star Jacob Romero describes it as “a big adventure with so much heart,” with Emily Rudd (Nami) drumming up excitement for the dynamics between their characters:
“Last season, it was so exciting to see the Straw Hats come together and create this family. In Season 2, you get to see them relying on each other fully.”
Taz Skylar’s Sanji is also seen in the clip, rounding out all five original crewmates. The sophomore season will expand the roster with new faces, including beloved reindeer doctor Chopper, portrayed by Mikaela Hoover (2025’s Superman), and Nico Robin (Lera Abova, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin).

“Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies,” reads the synopsis for Season 2, which is attached to the “Into the Grand Line” subhead.
The series has undergone several change of hands across its two seasons. Originally developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, who served as co-showrunners on Season 1, the show lost the latter first, with Tracz stepping up to the plate. Owens announced his departure from the second season at a later date, citing mental health reasons. A third season is in development.
Season 2 of One Piece will dock on Netflix sometime in 2026. In the meantime, check out some behind-the-scenes visuals, courtesy of the official X/Twitter account:
