My Little Pony Cards Make A Mark In Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair Drop

Imagine having to wait four years to make full use of your My Little Pony “Princess Twilight Sparkle” Magic: The Gathering card.

For the faithful bronies who held out up to this moment, their patience has finally paid off. With the new Ponies: The Galloping 2, the latest Secret Lair drop for Magic: The Gathering, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash will make an appearance and allow Twilight Sparkle to shine.

With its release in 2019, the original Ponies: The Galloping set saw the appearance of Princess Twilight Sparkle but with no legal way to activate her ability. But now, once we have all of Twilight Sparkle’s friends in play, everypony wins the game!

With card abilities reminiscent of Magic’s joke sets, these silver-bordered cards are in no way tournament-legal but will find a place at casual game nights…if your friends let you play with them. For instance, Applejack allowed players to take a toy (ideally a My Little Pony one for maximum bonus) and place it on the battlefield. If the toy has wings, it then has the flying ability. If it has horns, you’re able to filter your decks. Otherwise, if the toy has neither, you get a food token.

The best part of it all? 50% of every purchase of Ponies: The Galloping 2 Secret Lair set will be donated to support the Seattle Children’s Autism Center netting you good karma and cards at the same time. Awesome!
