Amazon’s ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Trailer Reveals Middle-Earth Wrought By War

Following the first look at some images for Amazon‘s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a trailer for this epic TV series has been released. The vast, rich world of Middle-earth looks as breathtaking as ever, and it seems like it’ll be chock-full of action and adventure. It also seems like war will be ever-present in Tolkien’s fantasy world, pointing to how political and military struggles are perennial issues for any world with sentient creatures.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is led by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. It takes place thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings films, set in the Second Age of Middle-earth history. This means viewers will be plunged into an era of major change, with Sauron forging the One Ring and starting to consolidate his power.

The Rings of Power features a large cast, including Robert Aramayo, Markella Kavenagh, Morfydd Clark, Joseph Mawle, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vicker, Daniel Weyman and more.

Amazon‘s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuts on 2 September 2022, and will be the series that all Tolkien fans should keep an eye out for. With more of the franchise’s rights being put up for auction soon, it seems like there will likely be more The Lord of the Rings content to look forward to in the years to come.
