HUNTR/X just can’t be stopped, as Sony Animation’s smash hit Kpop Demon Hunters continues to rake in major milestones on Netflix. Following its rise to become the streamer’s most-watched original animated film of all time, the show has now earned a top spot on its global charts as the fourth most popular movie ever.

With a total of 158.8 million views since its debut on 20 June, the animated film now ranks fourth on Netflix’s global top 10 most popular English-language movie chart, bested only by 2021’s Red Notice (230.9 million views), 2024’s Carry-On (172.1 million views), and 2021’s Don’t Look Up (171.4 million). The show still has time to rise even higher, too, as the streamer measures its all-time list by recording the views of each title’s first 91 days, meaning it still has roughly 7 weeks to surpass the current top 3.
It’s great news all around for the surprise animated hit, which follows the musical trio that lead double lives as demon hunters, and face off against a rival boy band called Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons. Arden Cho (Teen Wolf), May Hong (High Maintenance), and Ji-young Yoo (Moxie) lead the voice cast as vocalist and overall leader Rumi, visual-slash-main-dancer Mira, and rapper Zoey, respectively, with Netflix also set to expand its universe, with plans for two sequels, a live-action adaptation and a stage musical.

Elsewhere on Netflix’s top charts, season one of the Jenna Ortega-led reboot, Wednesday, has continued to dominate its all-time English-language TV show charts with 252.1 million views to date, with Stephen Graham’s psychological drama Adolescence and the fourth season of Stanger Things trailing behind with 142.6 and 140.7 million views, respectively.
