‘Kingdom Hearts’ 14-inch Light Up Keyblade Replica Lets You Face Your Fears In Style

It’s dearly beloved (pun intended) by both Sora and fans, and now it’s materialising as a 14-inch replica. Square Enix has announced and opened pre-orders for a new Kingdom Hearts Light Up Keyblade, which will emit a keyhole-shaped illumination light.

The officially-licensed collectible is slated to release in September 2022 for Japan and January 2023 for North America and Europe. Unfortunately, there’s no word on availability in the other Asia regions including Singapore, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

It will retail at 6,380 yen in Japan, US$59.99 for the US market, and €59.99 in Europe. Check out close-ups of the product below:

This Keyblade drop follows the recent announcement of Kingdom Hearts 4, with a teaser trailer showing off a first look at gameplay and setting, as well as a potential Star Wars crossover. The game is currently in development and has yet to fix a release date.

What fans can look forward to it is a more realistic art style than all of its predecessors, and the return of our best pals, Donald Duck and Goofy — both of whom appeared at the end of the trailer. Much of the plot remains under wraps for now, but the synopsis provided by Square Enix gives an idea of what to expect:

“Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the ‘Lost Master Arc.’ Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.”
