During an earnings call, Lars Wingefors, the CEO of Embracer Group – which owns Warhorse Studios via its subsidiary Plaion, stated: “[The game’s] sales are exceeding our expectations and even my slightly higher expectations. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is actually achieving that, so I think it’s a ‘well done.’. I’m really happy to see it.”

“It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion and appeal of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.” he added, “Warhorse Studios has a robust roadmap, including updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring an engaging and continuously evolving experience for the community.”

Regarding the aforementioned post-launch roadmap, the game is set to receive three expansions this year, including free updates that will bring new features like a barber, additional customisation options to Hardcore Mode and horse racing. The title’s first paid content drop, Brushes with Death, is also set to release sometime in the Summer and is described by Warhorse Studios as an adventure where protagonist Henry “aids an enigmatic artist with a shadowy past.”

The roadmap will be rounded off with two further expansions, the Legacy of the Forge, which offers a look into Henry’s past and his adoptive father Martin’s history, and Mysteria Ecclesia, which thrusts Henry into a covert mission to the Sedlec Monastery to “navigate the complex dynamics”. These DLCs are currently set for Autumn and Winter respectively.

Set in early 15th-century Bohemia, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set directly after the events of its 2018 original, and follows Henry, a blacksmith’s son, as he takes on the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and his allies. The game currently sits at a “very positive” rating on Steam, with 91% of its 36,638 reviews being positive. Additionally, the game has an all-time peak player base of 255,607 on the platform alone at the time of writing, with a 24-hour peak of 150,031 players.
